On December 11 and 12 the RMM will inaugurate its brand new museum site: the “Interpretation Centre Second World War” at camp Heintz in Bastogne.
This historic venue also houses General Mac Auliffe’s former head quarters, when he headed the 101 Airborne Division.
The new site will be officially inaugurated on Saturday December 11 at 11.30 am, on the former camp parade ground.
A US Army delegation will present a few armoured vehicles. The RMM will deploy a nice array of tanks and armoured vehicles and organise an exhibition with transmission material and field installations. Large photographic panels will show the camp “Then and Now”. An exchange pool will also take place.
On Sunday afternoon a squadron of tanks and armoured vehicles will participate, from 2.30 pm onwards, in the parade in Bastogne town centre.
The camp is freely accessible, both on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am till 6 pm.
