Return

Napoleon hands his brother Joseph the kingdom of the Two Sicilies and allows him to create an order. All medals are gold, with a pale blue (sometimes a somewhat darker blue) ribbon.

The five points are in red enamel. Due to an error in manufacturing, some stars lean towards the purple. In a pale blue circle, the centre holds the Trinacrie (the arms of Naples) and on a golden background one can read “SICIL REX INSTITUIT” (Created by the king of Sicily) or “JOSEPH NAPOLEON SICIL REX” (Joseph Napoleon King of Sicily). The backside shows a prancing horse on a golden background. On pale blue, one can read “PRO RENOVATA PATRIA” (For a renewal of the Fatherland).
