Ordre des Deux-Siciles (Order of the Two Sicilies)
February 24 1808 1809

Napoleon hands his brother Joseph the kingdom of the Two Sicilies and allows him to create an order. All medals are gold, with a pale blue (sometimes a somewhat darker blue) ribbon.
The five points are in red enamel. Due to an error in manufacturing, some stars lean towards the purple. In a pale blue circle, the centre holds the Trinacrie (the arms of Naples) and on a golden background one can read SICIL REX INSTITUIT (Created by the king of Sicily) or JOSEPH NAPOLEON SICIL REX (Joseph Napoleon King of Sicily). The backside shows a prancing horse on a golden background. On pale blue, one can read PRO RENOVATA PATRIA (For a renewal of the Fatherland).
